The new dawn
Upon the scene did burst
Amid a blaze of exultation
In an endless stream of golds
The arrival for to celebrate
Of the mighty emperor of day
As the celestial firmament
Scattered the dazzling rays of sun
Throughout the heavenly realm
Whence the glorious daystar
Did onto the land benighted emerge
By a cohort flanked
Of gilded clouds a billowing
To obeisance complete subject
Obediently a trail across the skies
The great solar rex for to escort
As a retinue of yellowhammers
Swarmed high in the loftiest heights
Their homage for to pay
Unto the majestic light sublime
That beamed its glories beneficent
Upon the world below
