‘A million stars’

A million stars
lost in a sky of endless violet
Cast a lustre of diamond white
that shimmered amid the vast empty
and lit the night sky

As it broke through the silent darkness
that brooded in a dark purple
and arched over rolling hills of emerald green
Where the leaves of silent trees
stirred in the gentle breeze of midnight

While the celestial glow
from yon heavenly realm
Illumined a river that meandered
through the lilac fields
as a streak of silver
On a journey to’ard the far seas
Its destiny preordained to fulfil
