‘The early morning mist’

The early morning mist
shimmered in notes of lilac
In the haze of a nascent daybreak

As the hour of dawn
heralded the auroral light
And stained the far empyrean
in hues of lavender and duck egg blue

Where the horizon formed a line of deep mauve
That edged flawless seas
awash with a harmony
Evoked by the serene silence

Which pervaded a benthic deep
as smooth as glass

For to reflect the sublime splendour
of the mountainous skyscape
As aloft it did a’blossom
in the glory of the waking firmament
